Takao-san

Waaah ! Le permier article sur un voyage hors de la ville ! Étant plutôt campagnard, et sensible aux paysages naturels, j'attendais avec impatience de découvrir le japon rural.

Le mont Takao est une destination très proche de Tôkyo (à moins de 2h de train de Shinjuku, je dirai). Je ne connais pas l'histoire du lieu, mais la proximité avec la grande ville fait que c'est quand même assez touristique, tout en restant assez petit.

Hooray ! The first article on a trip outside the city ! Since I'm more of a countryside guy, and senstitive to the natural landscape, I was eager to see that.
The Takao Mounain is near to Tôkyô (less that 2 hours from Shinjuku, I'd say). I don't know the story of the place, but the fact that it's close from the bic city makes it quite touristic, and at the same time it's quite small.

Il n'y a pas beacoup de magasins par ici (heureusement), mais il y a une rue commerçante juste avant les départs vers les chemins, le funiculaire et le téléphérique.

There are not many shops around there (hopefully), but there is a little street with many shops and restaurants just before the paths and cable car and cable train start.

Des Dango ! Hmm j'ai grave enfin d'en manger tout à coup :3 C'est du mochi en brochette recouvert d'une sauce que je ne vais pas réussir à décrire.

Dango ! Hmm I'd really like to eat some right now :3 It's mochi on a stick with a sauce that i can't describe.

Le bâtiment en face regroupe la gare du funiculaire et du téléphérique. Nous n'avons pris ni l'un ni l'autre, la marche à pied c'est quand même mieux !

The building ahead regroups the station of the cable car and the cable train. We took none of them ! Walking is better :)

Au pied de la montagne, il y a une sorte de petit sanctuaire avec des tombes, cette source ...

At the foot of the mountain, there is a small sanctuary with graves, that little waterfall ...

Le "monument" de droite se retrouve plusieurs fois le long de la route. Il doit y avoir une sorte de rituel à effectuer pour les gens qui viennent au temple pour des raisons religieuses. Il y a une pierre en forme de roue en dessous de la boule noire, et on a vu des enfants la faire tourner, ça doit faire partie de la tradition :)

The pillar on the right can also be seen in other places along the road. There is I think some sort of ritual to do for the people who come to the temple for religious reasons. There is a wheel shaped stone under the black boulder, and we saw some children spin it, it must be part of the tradition :)

L'atmosphère était pas terrible, mais par temps clair on peut bien voir Tôkyo apparemment.

The atmosphere wasn't very good, but if it's clear, Tôkyô can be seen quite well.

Apparemment, si on passe cet anneau en faisant un voeu, il se réalisera :) Je suis sûr que c'est un monument pourun domaine particulier (l'amour, l'argent, le travail ...) mais je ne peux pas vous dire lequel :)

Apparently, if you go through this ring whils making a wish, it will come true ! I'm sure this monument is about something in particular (love, health, work, ...) but I dont know which :)

That temple is the highest of the mountain, I think.

Après ces photos, on a continué à marcher à l'arrière du temple pour effectivement atteindre le haut de la montagne, qui est aménagé pour les touristes (rien de très envahissant) mais tout était déjà fermé ... Et je n'ai plus de photos car la batterie était à plat :( Je saurai pour mes prochains voyages qu'il faut recharger la batterie tous les soirs !

After these photos, we continued walking behind the temple in order to get to the real top of the mountain,that is all built for the tourists (nothing too big though) but eveything was allready closed ... And I don't have any other photos from my camera because the battery went out :( for my next travels, I'll know that I should charge it everyday !

Même si le temps n'était pas génial - on a eu de la chance de ne pas avoir de pluie - l'atmosphère créait un tableau très impressionnant des montagnes à l'arrière de Tôkyo !

 Even if the weather wasn't very nice - we were lucky not to have rain - the atmosphere could draw some pretty nice pictures of the mountains far away fron Tôkyô !

Et voilà ... Mais aujourd'hui, je vais essayer de décrire avec des mots la redescente, qui m'a beaucoup plu ! En effet, ce n'était pas sur un chemin bien pavé / goudronné comme à l'ascension, mais sur un petit chemin de terre. Il y avait notamment un passage sur un ruisseau où on marchait sur de grosses pierres posées en plein milieu, puis un peu plus bas, contre le talus, on entendait des coassements ! en se rapprochant, on n'a pas pu voir les grenouilles, car elles se cachaient dans une multitude de petits trous dans la terre. Par contre les écouter était très très mignon et intéressant :) Ensuite, plus bas, un petit temple se présenta à nous, avec une petite chute d'eau, c'était aussi particulièrement joli.

Puis, nous sommes rentrés au village, où tout était fermé - d'ailleurs il aurait été difficile de prendre d'autres photos vers la fin, il commençait à faire bien sombre.

That's it ... But today, I'll try to write a few words about the way down, that I enjoyed a lot ! It was not a paved way like when we got up, but a small, narrow dirt path. There was a passage with a stream, where we had to walk on big stones right in the middle of the water. Then a bit further down, on the side of the path, iside the dirt of the mountain, we could hear the croaks of some frogs !it was impossible to see them, because they were hiding in little holes in the dirt. But we could hear them very clearly ! Further down, a small shrine appeared, with a waterfall, and the whole thing was excellent, even if it was beginning to be dark, specially with all the trees around. Then, we arrived back to the village of the train station, and al the shops were closed. The sun had nearly set, and even if I would have had some power left in my camera, taking photos would have been difficult.
